post-Cho Dan test
The black belt test yesterday went well. I think that it took a little bit longer than they had expected, as the 19 testing red belts started at 10 and didn't finish until nearly 12, so the black belts testing had to wait until then. That pushed back lunch for the Masters and the afternoon seminar, scheduled for 1:30, didn't end up starting until about 2:15.
There are now about two months for people to work on anything that needs work before promotions are handed out in July. According to several people, including Grand Master Byrne, it was a "good test". The Masters sounded pleased with what they'd seen from the testing group, which is not always the case. I'm optimistic that my son passed and I passed, and very relieved that it's over.
The afternoon seminar was excellent, as always. We spent the ~1 hour and 45 minutes working on a half-dozed different wrist grabs, and one sparring defense/kick. It was interesting, it was educational, it was important. And I was so ready to be done. It made for a very long day.
