I'm a bit dim, sometimes... someone is going to have to explain to me why the United States Census Bureau spent $3 million taxpayer dollars airing this commercial during the Super Bowl.

What value did the taxpayer get for those particular dollars? What good or service are they selling? What desirable behavior did it drive? What knowledge did it impart?

It's conceivable that there was some benefit that I'm too stupid to recognize, but since I'm a dodo, I'm going to assume that it was just like most of the "stimulus" - money wasted.
