It's rare, but Michelle is wrong

I like Michelle Malkin. I have nothing but contempt for CBS.

That said, Michelle was wrong yesterday in her assessment of CBS' performance Saturday afternoon. "CBS puts a basketball game over the death of one of modern history's most towering figures." No, they didn't. They covered the death. They just chose not to spend the entire evening rehashing the same story that everyone else was re-hashing. Everyone covered the death. Everyone had been covering the death. ABC was covering the death. NBC was covering the death. PBS was covering the death. All of the cable news channels were covering the death. CBS made the decision to carry programming that an enormous number of people wanted to see, knowing that a) not everyone was interested in coverage of the post-death announcement, b) the obituaries had been running for 24 hours and c) there was no lack of opportunity for anyone who was interested in more coverage of Vatican city to find it. There's absolutely nothing wrong or disrespectful about that.
